Lomax - we need your photos / videos

Posted by Carlton Herrington on February 16, 2015 at 6:30 PM Comments comments ()

Should you get out to spectate on the Lomax 2015 and you get some good photos or videos then please share them with Nick or Carlton so we can include them on the club website.  It would be appreciated if you were to share the best only as sorting through hundereds is not fun for us administrators :-)

Thanks and enjoy the day.

Goodwill trial

Well, hello and welcome to the new LLDMCC website!  It is nice to see you all, and I hope that many more people will be joining in the near future.

In this installment: The Goodwill Trial.

After 3 weekends of clearing and much debate from the setup team (you know who you are!), we now have 8 sections marked out in our new venue near the Sun Trevor.  For those of you that have ridden the NBBC (AKA the PJ-1), the terrain may be familiar.....

The speed camera sections!

Starting from the road, we jump straight onto section 8, which is the drainage gully.  This is a drop down into the gully proper, then a climb up the boulder strewn gully and out to finish.

Section 1 is just above with a easy start, then (for some) a blast up, along and back down down into the gully to the finish gates.

Section 2 is above here, starting from the field with 2 gullys to navigate, the second of which will set some hearts a-fluttering!

Section 4, just across the way is more traditional. Rooty slippy descent, into a stream bed, then up and out (more roots!). Back where we came from, and up the field to,

Section 4 starts near the ruiined house, with a lovely, loose, steep boulder section for the experts. For mortals, we weave our way throughand around some trees, and then a short squirt up a boulder section to finish.

We now move on to a change of scenery. A short blast along the top of the field finds a large, steep -sh hillside scattered with big trees, roots and some 'interesting' traction opportunities....

Section 5 starts between 2 trees, then some strange boulders to get around or over, to a nice easy finish!

Section 6 starts with some tight turns between the trees, up the bank and back to the start.

Section 7 is what is called, 'The hillclimb section', :o or 'sort the men out from the boys'. Hope you like to use 4th gear! :D

After that, back down the field to the boundary with the main road, and then into section 8.

4 laps, see you all in the pub after!

The section setters have had good fun, finding the most awkward, slippy, rooty and generally evil way to get you to give us 5 marks whenever possible!!

No, no, no, Brad kept us all in check, and we have created a nice, but challenging event for all riders of every ability.  We hope you enjoy your day, and remember: mines a Guiness...

Wishing you a good event - Brad, Roger, Bernie and all the rest of the team.
